So what's a typical day like when we are at home?
* Early AM - Wake-up routine, breakfast little playing, planning (yes, that's tight planning. We typically do reading, writing/ drawing & math/ science with Pavle selecting which order to do some of the topics by picking from a list we give him. This allows him to participate in choosing how to spend his time under direction. It also helps him to know what is coming up next. We usually post the "daily plan" on the fridge and he checks off what is next.
* Mid to Late AM - This is "school time." We take 15 minute blocks and do a Singapore Math Workbook page or handwritten problems. Few minutes of play-time, then we change subjects and he will draw, color and/ or write. We use the Noah Webster's handbook for Reading and Pavle is able to read many things on his own. He is learning to read in English and Macedonian. He is, of course, stronger in English as I am his primary teacher. While here in Macedonia, he is working more with his Baba (grandmother).
* Lunch Prep and Lunch - Oftentimes, Pavle is my helper in the kitchen. It's all hands-on and when measuring things, he is learning practical use of fractions, he sees how to read instructions in a recipe and follows directions as I give them to him.
* Afternoon - This is pretty much open free play and varies widely. Sometimes we do our household errands, like banking, grocery shopping, yard-work, cleaning etc. And other time we work on a longer project, like building a "paper city or farm" with construction paper, blocks, his toy cars etc.

* Dinner Prep and Family Dinner - Much like lunch, only lighter - we have our biggest meal med-day.
* After Dinner - usually it is a lesson or project with daddy. They typically cover geography, additional mathematics, computer disassembly :-), Macedonian language etc. and I do some work or other things for Old World Cuisine or Zoran's business, xSynthesis.
